The Young Entrepreneur: Making the Right Choices

Young people are full of energy and creativity.  They do not hold to so many preconceived notions about how life is or should be, and are inspired by new ideas and challenges.  This is exactly the mindset that gives rise to entrepreneurship.

However, lack of experience can also result in decision-making challenges involving a potential entrepreneurial opportunity or idea.

YoungAndSuccessful.com contributor, Jennifer Kuschell, guides young entrepreneurs through making careful and strategic business choices with nine steps:

1. Weigh the pros and cons of your decisions.

2. Don’t put all your energy or resources in one place.

3. Avoid risking more than you’re willing to lose or walk away from.

4. Have back up plans.

5. Have an exit strategy in mind.

6. Consider how your decisions will affect others, your business, or yourself.

7. Learn from the experiences of others.

8. Make sure the risk is worth the reward.

9. Don’t waste time second-guessing your choice.

As a young entrepreneur, give your decisions some serious thought and take the time to do your research.  This, along with your entrepreneurial mindset will help lay the foundation for your success as an entrepreneur.
