Business Ideas for the Teen Entrepreneur
Lots of teenagers want money to buy stuff. Others however, take the idea of making money and turn it into a business - the teen entrepreneurs.
Many young people already have ideas that can be turned into businesses. Others have the entrepreneurial desire, but may need some ideas of how to get started.
MySmallBiz.com suggests a few ways for teens to find business opportunities, right in their own neighborhood:
- Jobs other people can’t or don’t want to do: house cleaning, gutter or window cleaning, running errands, babysitting, dog walking.
- Seasonal services: yard work such as mowing lawns and raking leaves, shoveling snow, or holiday gift wrapping and baking.
- Hobbies or activities: cooking or baking, crafts, computer training or services.
What business idea they go with or how much money gets made isn’t so important, however. It’s the experience of being a teen entrepreneur that is the ultimate payoff.

Some great pointers there for teens! Seasonal jobs are perhaps the best bet, as it usually coincides with school holidays too!
