Make Money at Home: Make it Work for You
Many people think that it would be easy to work and make money at home. There’s schedule flexibility, no office commute, and no dress code.
However, there can be a lot of distractions to getting your work done when you are at home. Myrna Beth Haskell, freelance writer and work at home mom, suggests three ways to effectively work from home:
- Have a space of your own.
Work in a space that can be off-limits to others during work hours. Have all your supplies in your area while you are working. - Keep interruptions to a minimum.
Communicate with family and friends when you will be working. Develop the discipline to stick to your work when you have committed to do so. Set aside other times for chores, appointments, volunteering, and other commitments. - Set up scheduling that works.
As much as possible, abide by the work schedule you set. Be sure to consider coordinating your schedule with childcare or the time of day you work most effectively.
There are many opportunities to make money from home. A little preparation can go a long way toward making it a successful venture.
