Direct marketing is an extremely effective way of connecting with current and potential customers. Even brand marketers are becoming increasingly open to exploring and applying direct marketing tactics.
One commonly used application of direct marketing strategy is the use of special offers to entice customers.
When faced with a purchase option, many people like to take their time to think things over. They like to weigh their options and consider whether or not they want to make the purchase. Unfortunately, the longer they think about it, the less likely they are to take action.
The key to getting prospective customers to act is to have a deadline. Limited time offers compel people to make quick decisions. It keeps them in the emotional response mode, without allowing time to rationalize out of the purchase.
