Informal Entrepreneurship Education
Entrepreneurship education will not necessarily look like a formal degree. Many entrepreneurs have completed a formal education in a variety of degree programs, but to be an entrepreneur there are no formal requirements.
Life experience, a willingness to learn while pushing through self-doubt and refusing to call it quits - all play a vital part of becoming a successful entrepreneur as well.
There are three key ways an entrepreneur can pursue self-education.
1. Read, read, read. Whether it is journals, news columns, e-books, autobiographies or practical non-fiction, learning through reading is a primary means of learning new information. Entrepreneur magazine has a list of 5 must reads for every entrepreneur.
2. Interact with other successful entrepreneurs. It may look like a mastermind group or a sit down at your local Starbuck’s where you can bounce ideas off of someone you respect.
3. Tune in. Radio shows, interviews, podcasts or webinars are all ways to get up to speed on the latest information in your industry.
Whatever method of education you choose, don’t hold back because there’s a lot to learn.
