What Does Entrepreneurship Research Look Like For You?
Determining what the best direction is for your business - marketing, employees, purchasing supplies and investing in the future can all be daunting tasks. Entrepreneurship research can come in many forms though. Every lesson doesn’t have to be a hard one.
A prime example of this is the nut and candy company, Koeze Co. Father, Scott Koeze sold the company to his son, Jeff Koeze in 1996. Although the company was successful under Scott’s leadership, his personality and aptness for learning “by doing” left some issues unattended to.
When Jeff took over the business in 1996, he hesitantly left a professorship in law to take over the family business. Jeff dove in with little business sense, but deferred to stacks and stacks of books to find some help. What Jeff found was that he couldn’t learn everything by reading alone, but he gained a great deal of information by being open to many venues of learning.
Both men ran Koeze Co. successfully and with some help from outside resources, attending “pricey seminars” and hands on attention, sales have almost doubled since Scott Koeze’s first year.
Not everyone will learn in the same manner but it’s vital to continue learning. To grow your business you must be willing to change direction sometimes and work smarter with every step.
