Serial Entrepreneur: Courageous Or Crazy?

A serial entrepreneur is a unique individual armed with talents and skills that your ordinary entrepreneur may or may not possess.

Clemson University Professor Wayne Stewart, notes serial entrepreneurs have 3 characteristics that set them apart from the pack.

1.    Bigger Risk-Takers. This may be due to the immense experience they’ve accumulated or an innate quality they are born with.  Serial entrepreneurs can look at the bigger picture and anticipate other opportunities if the current one doesn’t succeed.

2.    More Achievement Oriented. A large percentage of serial entrepreneurs have their eyes fixed on the startup and may have no interest in the management part of a company.  Getting a business off the ground can be the most difficult part, but serial entrepreneurs look for challenges and run to them not away from them.

3.    Higher Preference for Innovation. Exploring new ideas and concepts is what a serial entrepreneur craves and that’s where the risk can play in as well.

If you enjoy the explosive process of taking a something from an idea to a reality, you may be a serial entrepreneur.  Not everyone is interested in continually starting something new, but a self-evaluation of your skills may be a good way to determine if being a serial entrepreneur is in your blood.
