Prosperity: A Whole Bag Of Emotions

There is usually a lot of planning and work that goes along with creating prosperity.  The thought of everything one must plan for can be a worry for many.  According to Tim Berry from BPlans, there are ways to make the planning exercise easier.

Berry proposes that you should SWOT.

  • Strengths - Make a list of what your strengths are, what are you offering that someone else isn’t? And how are you doing it better?
  • Weaknesses - What could you improve?  Being aware of your weaknesses puts you in a position to make improvements.  Take advantage of the insight.
  • Opportunities - Regularly evaluate what your opportunities are.  Who can you talk to and what do they need that you can provide?  What’s changed about your customers needs?  What upgrades can you offer?
  • Threats - Being on high alert, thinking ahead, planning for the future puts you in a “ready” position.  Berry clarifies that a healthy worry is not paralyzing, but rather it helps you stay one step ahead.

Keep in mind that every entrepreneur is different.  It takes many emotions and character traits to run a successful business, but a little worry in the mix isn’t necessarily a bad thing.
