- Entrepreneurship education is the key to setting our children up for independence
Our schools do not teach our children to be independent. Donald Reimer wrote in the Detroiter Magazine that “most school curricula tend to focus on obtaining a job – on working for someone else.” He goes on to argue that this “puts students on the road to dependency.”
There is a Chinese proverb that says, “Give a man a fish and you feed him for a day. Teach a man to fish and you feed him for a lifetime.”
Well, teach someone to turn their ability to fish and knowledge of fishing into a business venture and you have made them independent. Not only will this person now enjoy independence, but also they will provide goods and/or services to others and contribute to the economy by creating jobs for others. (…)

Yes and no… Typically an entrepreneur is tagged as someone who thinks outside the box. This person does not necessarily play by the rules. They are thought of as doing something fresh and new. They are innovators. (…)

- It’s not about the money with social entrepreneurship
Our generation has made tremendous strides in creating a global community. In a global community, individuals across the world take responsibility for making the world a better place. An entrepreneur who identifies a need in the social realm rather than the business world and works to fulfill that need is part of a new breed known as social entrepreneurs. (…)

- Does entrepreneurship require an education?
Not in the traditional sense. America and the entrepreneurial spirit are inextricably linked. Given this connection, it is no wonder that colleges, universities, private foundations, States, and non-profit organizations have all developed curricula to provide entrepreneurship education.
